Fireproof.

I finished watching Fireproof a couple of minutes ago; it’s the most moving story I have ever seen in a long time.

The movie portrays a guy that is trying to salvage his marriage by following The Love Dare. I think it’s truly inspirational and it is something everybody should watch, especially if they have found their significant other or are in a relationship right now. It teaches everyone of us more about love and reminds us all that the most crucial part of love is it’s unconditionality. Love is unconditional; there is no such thing as a conditioned love.

I kept on having problems embedding the video onto this post. Here’s the link if you’re interested!

Santa Cruz

asdfSo I went to Santa Cruz over spring break. Being a pretty extreme loner here, I only went with Michelle. But it’s all good, we had fun! :) although we were lost at about 9pm ish looking for my car =l but here are my favorite pictures of the day!

Bonjour, Printemps! :D

The Boardwalk at Sunset :D

We walked across this bridge! It took us about 30mins and people could tell we were terrified!

Rollercoaster Ride! :D

I've always wanted to fly.

the beach, at a distant.

We'll all find our happy endings. :) We're walking towards it every step of the way.

Poetry Magnets.

It’s National Poetry Month and they have this really amazing poetry magnets I’ve been craving for in the library! :D I’m so happy! :D

The board. :D

Another picture of the board and the whole poetry magnet kit!

Glasses!

Well you know I think boys in framed glasses are sexy, but what you might not know is that I have one too!

I had to wear spectacles a couple years back for my eye therapy, but when that was done I asked the optometrist to put empty, non prescription lenses on the glasses. I wore it sometimes just for the hell of it or if I’m trying to conceal puffy eyes from crying and stuff.

I took the lenses off and I wore them a couple times last week. I love my miumiu glasses! (:

No lenses! The glasses are just to make me look smarter! =p

The jacket, the pony tail, and the glasses. What do you think of my school girl look? (:

Another one with the glasses!

poker face.

Bye! I hope you like the glasses as much as I do! (:

Snowboarding.

I’ve been snowboarding twice now. I’m the worst snowboarder out of us all because I’m so scared of the slope; once I had to go down by the lift, alone, and made Anne wait for me for at least half an hour and Nana went back to get Anne without gloves. I suck and I’m often scared, but I was able to have a good laugh and I loved the experience regardless.. (:

Snowboarding for the second time at Sugar Bowl

the cafe at Sierra at Tahoe ski resort (:

Chobi and I at the parking lot, after snowboarding

The sky on the way back was magical.. It's more beautiful than this; I wish I could show it to you guys..

Macarons.

I developed an obsession with macarons long before I have even tasted them because I love “Gossip Girl” and Blair is always eating macarons whenever she’s depressed. Tumblr also has many pretty macaron pictures and so does “The Cherry Blossom Girl.”

Since I came here and taste macarons, my love for them has grown even deeper because of their soft cream filling and their crisp shell. They are so colorful, beautiful, and irresistible!

La Baguette, Stanford

My favorite from the store! :)

In front of the store, with random people.

Cocola, Stanford

Macarons from Cocola, from when Brian took me. :)

My Lovely Bug.

My Bug. I got my Bug shortly after I moved to the Bay Area; my parents are extremely generous and they got me my dream car even after buying me a really cute car for my seventeenth in Indonesia! Oh my, words can’t explain how blessed and thankful I am for my parents and my family.

A convertible Volkswagon Beetle has always been my dream car because it’s so cute and Barbie once had it, not the convertible though and it was in pink. My dream beetle was either green or yellow convertible; I even remember telling ci Tika in Nishi when I was still in Perth about it! And guess what? I got it! :D

We’ve cruised together for more than half a year now and my Bug has been really sweet. She’s been through a lot; three accidents in less than a year! My Bug is also very understanding of my college student financial standing and never ever complains about drinking the cheapest fuel and being washed only once ever since I got it. My apartment doesn’t allow us to wash and it’s been raining so I just windex my Bug once in a while. She’s been wonderful we went on a road trip with my mom and sis all the way to San Diego and she was extremely well-behaved, the whole way!

Bonjour, c'est moi in the dream car, ma cherie! :D

I can hide in my car and watch others! :p creepy much? :p

Star 101.3; I'm too cheap to buy CDs and I gave away my iPod! :D

I failed my driving test because I was too slow; my Bug has helped me gain courage and become a better, faster driver! :D

We travelled many nights..

.. and days together! :) btw don't you love the flowers? :)

I was surprised to find my car all wrapped in plastic one day! Turns out the apartment does its cleaning on that day each month; I was just never around that time of the day.

Winter 2010 Holiday

I know it’s April and it’s a tad late to be posting about last Christmas but I please excuse my belated post and view these fun, memorable pictures! :D

My Mom and my sister, Stacey, came and visited me over the Winter 2010 holiday. We went to lots of places like San Francisco Bay Area, Solvang, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego. We had a lot of fun and spent some quality time together. We also spent time with loving people we didn’t usually spend time with like Ci Arline and her family and Tante Sisil. I’m grateful for all of them. Tante Sisil also helped me find Semester at Sea; I’m so excited for it!

Stacey as Stitch and me as Goofy at Disneyland!

Stacey with Bolt and Sydney with Marie

Can you see the magical castle? :)

Disneyland and Universal Studio snacks were so much fun!

This was either at Universal or Disney; i think it's Disney. :D

Flamingos at San Diego Zoo. Stacey took the picture!

Lorry's Diner, San Francisco. Fun and very 50s! :D

See? Very 50s right? :D

Old fashioned love.

I am a firm believer of what our society defines as old fashioned love. The monogamist love that is based on deep connections achieved through chivalrous courtship. And that most of all, love waits for marriage.

I am recently made aware of the kinds of relationship that exist in our society today; people seem to be moving in with each other at a faster rate, getting pregnant, having sex on first dates, and believing monogamy is a lost. But what about love? Real love?

I believe real, true love is enough to keep people from wanting any others. True love makes you want to commit because you want to be his/her everything the way they want you to be theirs. Affection and intimacy are the foundation of true love, not good looks or other ostensibly superficial things. I believe true love breeds magic, like telepathy and lust.

Reading the college essay winner of The New York Times, Sex and The City, Up for Renewal, and recent magazines made me realize people’s preference to promiscuity and aversion for commitment. It’s sad how true love is an esoteric concept today, how most people lack the faith to believe in the existence of their significant half, their princess or their prince charming.
